A Stylish Table Oil Lamp With Blue Glass Fount

This table oil lamp most likely dates from the early 20th century and is a nice piece.

The fount is of opaque blue glass with a simple pretty flower and leaf pattern. Connected to this is a very clean screw fitting duplex (twin wick) burner with snuffer mechanism. Embossed on the brass wick winder knobs is "British Made"

It has a nice quality reeded brass stand with base resting on a glazed ceramic plinth. There is a very slight dint in the brass base and a little manufacturing flaw to the edge of the plinth.

The acid etched swirl shade is a high quality hand made modern replacement manufactured by about the last remaining shade maker in the UK.

A lovely oil lamp in working order.
